Lizzy picked up the word "celebration" somewhere. She woke up the day before her birthday and said, "Are we having a celebration today?"
Lizzy's birthday wasn't until the 20th, but Troy had to teach a class until late that evening so we had her little party the night before. My sister Wendy and her family came, as well as our friends the Dewhursts. (We do friend parties every other year - so far) We had cake (which I made exactly to Lizzy's specifications), ice cream, presents and lots and lots of noise!!
The next day, Lizzy took some
yummy ice cream cone
cupcakes to pre-school, had
lunch with her daddy
at work, ate dinner with her
cousins and told me
over and over,
"Mommy, I'm 4 now!!"
We had lots of fun
celebrating her life together.
What a wonderful "celebration!" Aren't kids amazing...so much smarter than us!
ReplyDeleteHer cake turned out so cute! She was so proud on Tuesday at preschool and told me it was her birthday. I told her I hoped she had a fantastic day, and she said, "Oh, I will!" in this very matter-of-fact voice. It was too cute!
ReplyDeleteFour is such a happy age. Looks like you all had a great "celebration."
ReplyDeleteEvery time I look at your blog, I think how much Lizzy looks like you. I know I have said it before, but that just is such a prevailing thought that I have to say it again.
Amelie loves to have celebrations, too. Funny how certain words appeal to them. She wants to wish Lizzie a happy, happy birthday and wishes she was there to give her hugs and play with her. Maybe in May when we come down that way!
