To make a long story short...we had such a fabulous time that I went again this week! It was definitely worth the drive. Joy is the word I would use to express how the three of us felt as we splashed in the ocean and buried each other in the sand. I have heard it said that the days in which we are feeling sick and tired of being sick and tired (SATOBSAT - taught to me by a great teacher named Darin Knowles) can be the most motivational and productive days of our lives. I would like to continue my weekly adventures. Lizzy isn't in school yet so I am more available to just pick up and go. Now that the temps are going to be cooling down we can go wander out in the desert too. Anyone want to join me?! :)
love the pictures of Ben digging in the sand because you can also see Lizzy off in the distance loving the ocean. (click on the pictures to enlarge them.) There weren't very many people there (a September secret I'm told) so we were free to run and play all we wanted and I could keep my eyes on both children without worry.
HOW FUN!!! I'd totally go with you! Let me know next time you want to go and we can all pile in my van!
ReplyDeleteI want to join the fun, but I'll have to stick with local outings. Most of my kids are in school.
ReplyDeleteSounds Heavenly. I wish we were closer to the beach! I am glad you get out and enjoy these things while your kids are little.
ReplyDeleteI so wish I lived closer. I think the beach would be a blast on my blah days!!! Great idea!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so brave! I would love to be as spontaneous! Maybe I will have to try it some time!
ReplyDeleteThat is so AWESOME!!!! I can't tell you how jealous I am! I miss those days of just picking up everything and going to San Diego for the day. I do LOVE that city (to visit anyway). Looks like it was a FUN day :)
ReplyDeleteWow! Looks like FUN! Good for you! I think it's a GREAT idea, both your kids will be in school before you know it! The toddler/preschool years bgo by way to quickly!
ReplyDeleteI will joyfully see you tomorrow!
PS. I found modest Barbie clothes on ETSY!

Now I'm pretty sure I know my geography pretty well, so where in the world is there a beach in Arizona that looks like the ocean? That must be some lake you live next to!
ReplyDeleteHeather, we live 2 1/2 hours from San Diego. Yuma is very isolated from everywhere so 2 1/2 hours doesn't seem long at all.
ReplyDeleteWOW, you are an amazing mother!! I live 45 minutes from the beach and I've taken my kiddos to the beach at least once a year. Hmmmm...I should take them more often before it gets cooler. Thanks for the inspiration!!
