Lizzy loves to have parties. She has been planning her birthday party since the minute her last birthday party ended. to tide her over I have allowed her to have random parties here and there. She had a pool party in the summer and I gave in and let her throw a Halloween party the week before Halloween. She has so many friends and doesn't want to leave anyone out so we had quite a crowd.
The little costumed party-goers decorated pumpkin sugar cookies, played "Pin the Tail on the Cat" and other fun games. Lizzy helped me hollow out a pumpkin, carve a face and fill the pumpkin with cooked, cold spaghetti. This simulated brains. We hid wrapped candies within the spaghetti. Each child took turns feeling around in the pumpkin's slimy "brains" for treats. They loved it! I had purchased a CD of kid friendly Halloween songs so Lizzy insisted that we have a "dance". I turned up "Monster Mash" while she and her friends twirled, jumped and danced to the music.
Lizzy had so much fun. She is a nice hostess, greeting her guests at the door and then thanking them for coming when they head home. As the last child left Lizzy turned to me and said, "Mommy, let's get ready for my next party!"
She seems like a social butterfly, good thing her mommy supports it.
