The Love Kids Love Snow

We made a spontaneous trip to Utah over Thanksgiving. Troy's dad has been pretty sick so we jumped in the car Wednesday at about 6:30pm and headed toward Utah. We stayed the night in Las Vegas ($30 at the Excaliber. It looks like a castle. Lizzy was excited beyond words.) We got a really late start on Thanksgiving morning and so didn't arrive in Ogden until around 5pm that day. We had a fun leftover dinner at Troy's mom's house. Our trip was short - we left for home on Saturday - but so much fun.

If Lizzy were typing this post all she would want to talk about was the snow. Yes, those of you who live in Utah know that there wasn't any snow over the Thanksgiving weekend. "Did you go to the mountains?" you ask. No. "Where in the world did you find some snow?" is your next question. Well, Troy's mom had a little patch of crusty old snow. "That's no fun!" you say. I would have to agree but to two small children who have spent their whole existence in the desert...that was SNOW!!! :) It was their first experience ever and they were in heaven!

All Lizzy can talk about is playing in the snow and how she can't wait to go back. She loved seeing the snow on the mountain peaks and she even made a snow angel - it was sparse - but recognizable. Hopefully we will get to go back during a time when there will be loads and loads of snow so she can build a snowman. (Before we left for Utah, Lizzy expressed her concern several times that we would forget the carrot, raisins, scarf and hat for the snowman. I reassured her that those items could be found in Utah. To her great dismay, there wasn't enough snow to build a snowman.)

  1. That looks like fun! I remeber when my two sisters and my dad came to drop me off at BYU-I for the first time and Katelyn jumped in EVERY pile of snow she could find! It's good times :)
