A New Suit , Buzz Lightyear Shoes and A Sweet Reminder

Ben's 3rd birthday is this month. He has been in need of some new Sunday clothes and new shoes for a while so I decided he could get some early birthday presents.
Daddy dressed him and fixed his hair on Sunday morning. I wish I had videoed his entrance into the kitchen Sunday morning with his new clothes on. We should have had an orchestra playing as he slowly, regally walked in to show me his new duds - his head held high, looking as proud as a peacock. He loves that he has a tie like daddy.

Now, about the shoes...I had originally picked out some Spiderman shoes but when he saw the Buzz Lightyear shoes he fell in love. He went to bed with them on that night and absolutely had to wear them with his new suit on Sunday. (I hadn't found any church shoes his size that I was willing to pay for, so I said it was ok)

After taking some pictures of my handsome guy he insisted on pictures of his shoes. In each picture he is telling me all about his shoes. I just loved the expressions on his face as he talks about how cool they are, how they light up and that Buzz Lightyear is all over them. (you can click on the pictures to enlarge them)

I love how important his new shoes and clothes are to him. It makes them important to me too and then the Spirit says to me, "Just like those shoes are now important to you because they are important to your son, remember that what is important to you Lisa, is also important to your Father in Heaven." I love little reminders from the Holy Ghost during ordinary, every day activities.
