Troy and I celebrated our 14th wedding anniversary on March 14th. When he asked me what I wanted I said, "A trip to Disneyland - with JUST you!" Well he was all over that one. So Monday and Tuesday of this week (March 29-30) we went on our very first overnighter anniversary trip since Lizzy was born 5 years ago!
We spent Monday at Disneyland. It was crazy busy. I was so glad not to be pushing a stroller through those thick crowds. I would have been worrying about losing one of the children and they never would have put up with the lines. We waited for an hour and a half to ride Splash Mountain, an hour to ride Space Mountain and almost an hour to ride the new Troy Story ride in California Adventure!! But after that our luck changed and we were able to get fast passes or be moved to the front of the line because there were only two of us.
Despite the crowds, we had such a fun day with only about 75% guilt that we were there without the children. I don't dare post any pictures with this post because then Lizzy will know what we did! :)
On Tuesday morning we went to the San Diego temple. Such a different feeling than going to Disneyland. I was so grateful to be there and feel the love and power that is there to be felt. Afterwards we went to our new favorite Thai restaurant in the Gas Lamp district of San Diego "Royal Thai". The food was amazing! Can't wait to go back.
Upon returning home we rescued my poor, kind sister from two days with 5 children! She deserves a break!!
We had such a wonderful time. We spent our Honeymoon in Disneyland 14 years ago. It was great to be back again with just Troy when we could spend time with just each other and not spend all of our energies on our sweet, wonderful, demanding children.
That is awesome. Too bad it couldn't have been longer for the 2 of you alone. I would watch your kids. Lizzy told me in Primary she was going on a sleep over and was so excited. I am glad to hear that you made it to the Temple since that is what she told me you were doing. ;)
ReplyDeleteHow fun!!! Congrats on 14 years! Whoo! You did it! :)
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary and Congrats on 14years!! I'm glad you were able to have some fun time together :) That is always the best and definitely needed :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your anniversary!! It's always fun to go back and "relive" honeymoon moments. Then you miss your kids and have a sweet reunion too!!
ReplyDeleteWell we just barely missed you! We were there the week before, with kids. I did think while I was there that it would be a fun adventure for me and the other "big kid" to go by ourselves one time! Bet you had a great time! Happy Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteLisa, Happy Anniversary! I'm so glad you got to have a trip to Disneyland with just Troy. We made a similar trip for our 25th Anniversary last June. Disneyland is one of my favorite places, with or without children, and the San Diego Temple is my favorite one. Sleeping Beauty's castle is nice, but the Lord's castle--even better! I miss you and look forward to seeing you this year for an evening event at Especially for Women! Love you!
