NOT Sooner Than I Thought...

"Mom, I have a boyfriend."
(she runs giggling out of the room)

"Tell me more Lizzy." (Trying to keep a smile on my face because I've learned that Lizzy will keep her mouth shut if she thinks for one second I'm going to lecture her AND besides, I had a little boyfriend in Kindergarten who put dandelions in my cubby every morning...so what can I say?)

"His name is Jr. He lost his tooth today in class. He is soooo cute. I didn't think he was cute until he lost his tooth and then I decided he was soooo cute."

"Does he know he is your boyfriend?"

"Yes."

"How does he know?"

"I told him at lunch today." (she doesn't play hard to get does she?)

"What did he say?"

"He said, 'Now I have two girlfriends!'"

"He has two girlfriends?"

"Yes, he is soooo cute."

"No kissing until you are 35 Lizzy Love." (As I winked at her and tried really hard to pretend that I wasn't seriously serious)

"Okay but I can still think boys are cute and we can plan on still being boyfriend/girlfriend when we grow up."

So, Lizzy fell for the first kid to lose his tooth in kindergarten. Is that like falling for the first guy who gets his own car in high school?

I can do this. I can do this. Rah...rah...rah! Here we go!!!!

  1. Patrick and I died laughing, we don't know if we are ready for this. Saige took a picture of all her friends in Yuma to school for Show-and-tell, we miss everyone and hope that all is going well.

  2. Can you blame him??? Lizzy is adorable!! But I would not be too excited about it all either! I am glad you get to experience this whole school thing before me, so you can give me a heads up. However, I might keep my kids home until they are 35...in a bubble!

  3. Haha! Welcome to the lovely conversations of crushes versus like-like versus like-love and finally in love enough to kiss.

    Girls are great. ;)
