On October 1st Lizzy was jumping up and down that it was finally Halloween. I had to break it to her that Halloween was still 30 days away. Somehow she survived and was ready for some fun when the holiday eventually came along. Because Halloween was on a Sunday this year, we went to our ward's trunk-or-treat on Saturday night and then we went out to my cousin's house for a fun Halloween themed Sunday dinner. Our neighborhood lives for Halloween so I knew that if I were going to not let the kids go trick-or-treating on Sunday, we would have to abandon our house for the night.
We had lots of fun this year and now to the REAL fun. I love Thanksgiving and Christmas so now it is my turn to be giddy about a holiday that is at the end of the month. Can I make it?
What I'm grateful for here: I'm grateful that I was able to find the kid's costumes at great sale prices! I'm grateful that we had some money to buy candy to pass out to the kiddos at the trunk-or-treat. I'm grateful for family who live in town who are willing to have us over for dinner and made it so much fun for us! Thanks Becky and Kevin! I'm grateful my kids haven't begged for their candy since I took it all away. I'm grateful it isn't freezing in Yuma which would have made the trunk-or-treat miserable. I'm grateful Halloween is over. I have some issues with that holiday and I'm always a little happier once it is over.
I miss them so much! They are so cute in their costumes. Give them a hug and a kiss for me!
