A Train Ride on New Year's Day

New Year's Day turned out to be FREEZING! I think the high was in the 50's. So what did we do? We went to the McCormick-Stillman Railroad Park in Scottsdale, AZ - an OUTDOOR train park. Despite the temps, we had so much fun. Ben and Lizzy both loved the trains.
(Click here to go to their link.)
We chose to ride the big train first. Our little Love family and Uncle Mark
supervising things there in the back.
Look how cold they look!
This was the little tikes train and for some reason even we adults were able to
ride on the train and not fall off!
There was even train/old west themed Merry-go-round. Aunt Gayle and Lizzy
chose to ride the covered wagon.
Troy and Ben chose to be the cowboys protecting the covered wagon.
We just had to ride the big train again but this time Ben and Lizzy wanted to ride in the cattle car.
(look at that little pink nose of Ben's - it was cold!
Lizzy and Ben have such a wonderful daddy - look at him crouched in that cattle car. He rode the whole train ride like that. You should have seen that guy crawl out of the car at the end.
Thanks for being such a trooper Troy!!!
Aunt Gayle and Uncle Mark and I chose NOT to ride in the cattle car.
(I would have thrown up anyway)

We plan on going back to this park next year BEFORE Christmas day because the park was completely decked out in Christmas lights and it would have been so fun to see it at night. We were told the park at over 5,000 visitors this holiday season with sometimes 3 hour waits for the train rides! We'll try to get there early and hopefully it won't be FREEZING!!

We had so much fun on our quick trip to see Aunt Gayle and Uncle Mark!
Thanks to both of you for a fabulous time!!!
