Elizabeth and Ben have been so excited for Halloween. They thought it would never come. The Saturday before Halloween, we went to our ward's Trunk-or-Treat where the kids gathered quite enough candy - in my opinion, not theirs. :)
Here is our family at the Trunk-or-Treat. Yes, I dressed up this year. Lizzy was super excited about that. That is Troy next to me - there is still a bit of good in this Darth Vader's heart, right? Lizzy is Silver Mist (Tinkerbell's water fairy friend.) Ben is Jenga Phet - a Star Wars dude. He loved his mask.
The cousins at the Trunk-or-Treat. From left to right: Jacob (8), Elizabeth (6), Benjamin (4), Ethan (4), Porter (6), Emma (1) and my sister Wendy.
Halloween was on a Monday night this year, so on the Sunday before Halloween we carved our pumpkins. Lizzy wanted to do hers completely by herself this year. She designed a pumpkin face with one of the pumpkin's "teeth" falling out.
She discovered carving a pumpkin is harder than she thought.
But she did a great job! The holes above the pumpkin's eyes are supposed to be parts of a bow in her hair.
Ben also carved his own pumpkin...just kidding! He wanted his pumpkin to match his costume - Jenga Phet. Troy worked hard just to have it all fall apart as we were getting ready to turn out the lights and see his creation.
Of course there were school parties to attend on the day of Halloween. Ben's preschool planned a fun party with lots of activities. The above picture is of Ben with his teacher Ms. Penny (I love her). They are making a popcorn craft.
Ben's preschool even went on a parade around the neighborhood. The kids waved at every car or person passing by. They were pretty excited to show off their costumes. Ben is right in the middle of the picture. Ben LOVES his preschool class!!
Lizzy's 1st grade party was lots of fun too. Lots of candy. Lots of sugary treats. Fun math games. Fun stories. Life just doesn't get any better for a 6-year-old. This is Lizzy's table where she sits at school all day. She LOVES school!!
That night Darth Vader (a.k.a. Daddy) took Silver Mist and Jenga Phet around the neighborhood to get MORE sugar. They had soooo much fun! They are already planning their costumes for next year.
Halloween is a lot of fun but to me, it is just one more day to get through before the REAL holidays begin. :)
It looks like the kiddos had a GREAT Halloween!! You know, my Mom feels the SAME way about Halloween :)
