I have needed to make some changes in my completely crazy schedule lately so that I can do what is of most worth in my life. I have second guessed myself in every one of these decisions. It's not like I am involved in a bunch of stupid stuff. All of my commitments are to worthwhile, wonderful activities - but are they what is most important at this time in my life and at this time in the lives of my children? Some hard decisions have been made and I've worried.
But an inspired friend sent a quote to me that set my heart at ease.
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one in this over scheduled, over committed, over stressed situation, so I thought I would share.
"We women have a lot to learn about simplifying our lives. We have to decide what is important and then move along at a pace that is comfortable for us. We have to develop the maturity to stop trying to prove something. We have to learn to be content with what we are."
— Marjorie Pay Hinckley
I loved those phrases "comfortable for us" and "maturity to stop".
EXACTLY WHAT I NEEDED!!
