Ben was in heaven! One of the firemen took Ben in his arms and gave him his own private tour of the truck. He let Ben push any button and pull any handle his little heart desired. At the end Ben got to sit on the fireman's lap while he turned the sirens on for the children. Ben still talks about his adventure and points out the fire station each time we drive past.

Little Boy Heaven
Some friends and I have been doing a co-op home preschool for the past couple of years. We have picked topics and set up a schedule which gives each of us two days every 5 weeks in which to host preschool in our home. The first five weeks of our fall session were focused on careers. Of course, Firefighter was one of the chosen careers to explore.

There is a fire station not too far away so we took the kids on a little field trip. While we were at the fire station, they men were called out on an emergency. They told us it wouldn't be long and asked if we wanted to wait. It was perfect because the children were able to hear their alarm and see them take off from the fire station. When they returned, we all had fun touring the firehouse and checking out the fire engine.
