Orca Tears

As I posted earlier, we went to Sea World last week. Anyone who has been there knows, the main attraction is the Shamu show. I have seen this show several times in my lifetime. I have even seen similar presentations on television programs. Without fail, these creatures - Orcinus Orca - have the same effect on me...They make me cry. In fact, if I had a private audience with them, I would allow myself to cry like a baby while watching them. As it is, I keep my tears to myself.
Do these beautiful mammals have the same effect on anyone else? Is everyone else in the stadium secretly shedding some tears? Or am I the only weirdo? I have never been able to put my finger on exactly what it is that causes my heart to swell and the tears to flow. I think it has something to do with their size, their beauty and the relationships they can form with their trainers. But that still isn't quite it.

Whatever the case may be, I love them and am amazed at our Creator's ability to create beauty in all shapes and sizes. (hmmm, there is another lesson there too)

  2. If you're a weirdo, than I am, too! They absolutely amaze me. I totally cried when we went to Sea World the last time. But for me, it goes even further than that. We had a season pass to the zoo in 2008-2009, and I cried walking around the zoo! The majesty of the animals is just incredible. It just overwhelms me to see such beauty in nature and to realize where it all came from.

  3. I also am a weirdo then! Everytime I have been to that show as well, I can't describe the feeling I get. It is like Heavenly Father is right there pouring out his wonderful spirit in the amazement of his creatures and what they can do. So no... you are not alone:)
