She Finally Convinced Us

Lizzy has been begging for quite a while to get her ears pierced. I'm not opposed to ear piercing. My own ears are pierced but here's the thing...I had to wait until I was 12-years-old. But Lizzy is a responsible girl and she has fulfilled all of the earning requirements Troy and I placed before her in order to get her ears pierced.
So, we made it a family affair and all headed on down to Claire's jewelry store to get my 6-year-old daughter's ears pierced (do you sense the struggle within myself?)
Before
A closer before
Marking the spot on her ears
The double gun approach makes it less painful.
She smiled with just a twinge of pain on her face when the actual piercing took place.
She is all smiles, no tears.
There she is, my beautiful girl with the pierced ears. Another new world has just opened up for me - buying earrings for her. She can share mine but I have a lot of "old lady" earrings I guess. :)

  1. How exciting for little Miss Lizzy!! I had my ear pierced when I was only 1yr old so I don't remember the experience, but Lizzy seems to have handled it VERY well!! She looks so proud of and excited to have her new earings :)

  2. Pierced Ears RULE! How exciting for Lizzie. I had my first daughter's ears pierced when she was just a few months old. My husband was so upset, but I really hadn't thought it would be a big deal. In his family, ear piercing was HUGE. He insisted that we not pierce our second daughter's ears until she was asked for it herself...kind of a her body, her agency thing. Anyways, our girl was just 18 months when she started pulling on her ears and pointing to my earrings. Haha! Since she asked, I took her down to the mall to get them pierced. We love earrings! :)
