Her Second Six-Year-Old Day

Elizabeth specifically wanted her Grandma Love to come visit for her birthday. Grandma Love accepted the invitation and so she came down from Utah just to celebrate with us.

Grandma Love is a retired 1st and 2nd grade teacher - a fabulous teacher, I might add. She really wanted to see Lizzy's school and meet her teacher and Lizzy really wanted Grandma Love to come to school. So...instead of taking cupcakes to Lizzy's class on her actual birthday, Lizzy wanted us to wait until Grandma Love arrived so she could come with me to deliver the goodies.

On Friday afternoon, after picking up Grandma Love at the airport, she and Ben and I walked over to Lizzy's school, cupcakes in hand. Lizzy had been waiting all day for us to walk through her classroom door and she was super excited to see Grandma Love.

We passed out the cupcakes just before school ended. Once the bell rang, Lizzy proceeded to take Grandma Love on the grand tour of Ronald Reagan Fundamental School. We spent the next 30-45 minutes going over every nook and cranny that Lizzy thought was important for her Grandma to see. She introduced her to her favorite people and showed her all around.

When it was time to head home, Lizzy was excited to show Grandma Love her new bike and how well she could ride home from school.

Once we got home, we began preparations for the next round of birthday celebrations. A family pizza party with Lizzy's cousins. Every Friday night we have Pizza Night. Lizzy looks forward to this night all week long. In honor of Grandma Love coming, we invited my sister and her family to come over as well. After pizza and craziness, we finished off the last of the cupcakes I had made earlier. You can see the remains of how much Lizzy loves pizza night all over her cheesy grin.

After the cousins went home, Ben fell asleep immediately so Grandma Love and Lizzy took advantage of the "girl time" and had a sleep over with their mattresses on the floor.. (That is the beautiful quilt made for Lizzy by her Grandma Layton. It is soooo warm and cozy!! Lizzy LOVES it!) I'm pretty sure Lizzy talked Grandma Love's ear off until she fell asleep mid-sentence. :)
